Industry consultant TradeTech’s decision to lift its weekly spot price indicator for uranium oxide (U3O8) to US$64.50\/lb last week was followed by a similar price setting at peer Ux Consulting. This week TradeTech has kept its price benchmark unchanged, noting there had only been one successful deal concluded during the week past.<\/p>\n
Reports TradeTech: “Neither buyers nor sellers appear anxious to move their bid or offer prices.” After five straight weeks of price increases, for a total gain of 13% (on TradeTech figures), spot uranium is taking a rest.<\/p>\n
According to the consultant, several utilities are considering entering the market in the coming months for discretionary purchases.<\/p>\n
