\n\tThings have become a lot more volatile at the top. That is, amongst stocks that are trading near their price target as registered by The Icarus Signal. On Friday, no less than 10 stocks disappeared from the list of stocks trading close to target and another five tumbled from the list of stocks trading above target. The large majority of these changes are the direct result of share price weakness. Many of the stocks involved are solid dividend paying securities such as Dexus ((DXS)) and Challenger Diversified Property ((CDI)). And, of course, many are mining services providers.<\/p>\n
\n\tIn fact, only one name managed to make the transition from below target to above target; GR Engineering Services ((GRG)) which is, you guessed it, on similar footing as the likes of Walter Diversified ((WDS)) and Monadelphous ((MND)). As reported last week, investors finally woke up to the fact that capex spending for the years ahead is not as solid as it appears from survey data and many stocks in the services sector have seen their share price deflating as a result. And so it is that stocks such as Monadelphous, which were trading above target prior to last week, all of a sudden find themselves more than 4% below consensus target at the start of the last week of the month.<\/p>\n
\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\tFalls for the likes of Nomad Building Solutions ((NOD)), ConnectEast ((CEU)) and Challenger Infra have been pretty severe.<\/p>\n
\n\tThere are now 14 securities left that are trading near target and 19 above target. Investors should note that some names on these lists are involved in corporate take-overs such as Riversdale ((RIV)) and Oaks Hotels & Resorts ((OAK)).<\/p>\n
