The US earnings season ramps up next week with more of the big banks and a few Dow stalwarts in the frame, including GE at week’s end. Next week will provide some indication of (a) whether results are as strong as expected and (b) how Wall Street responds. Sell the fact?<\/p>\n

US data releases next week include housing sentiment and starts, existing home sales, industrial production, the Fed Beige Book and the Empire State and Philly Fed indices.<\/p>\n

China will release its September quarter GDP result on Thursday. Monthly industrial production, retail sales and fixed asset investment numbers are also due after inflation data on the Monday.<\/p>\n

The minutes of the October RBA meeting come out on Tuesday ahead of Thursday local jobs report.<\/p>\n

In the local stock market, we are now moving into AGM season proper along with quarterly reporting season for resource sector companies in particular but also, these days, many a non-resource company provides an update.<\/p>\n

Among the AGM holders next week are Cochlear ((COH)), Orora ((ORA)), Telstra ((TLS)), Brambles ((BXB)), CSL ((CSL)), Origin ((ORG)), Healthscope ((HSO)), Ansell ((ANN)) and Insurance Australia Group ((IAG)).<\/p>\n

Among production reporters are Evolution ((EVN)), OZ Minerals ((OZL)), Rio Tinto ((RIO)), BHP ((BHP)), South32 ((S32)), Iluka ((ILU)) and Northern Star ((NST)).
