The US will see a first estimate of September quarter GDP tonight. Forecasts suggest 1.7% growth, down from 3.0% in June, reflecting the impact of the hurricanes.<\/p>\n

The Fed will hold a policy meeting next week. No change is expected on rates but more information about balance sheet tapering may be forthcoming. It’s all a bit up in the air now, as Wall Street awaits the announcement of Trump’s choice for new chair.<\/p>\n

The Bank of Japan will also meet next week, as will the Bank of England. Of the two, the BoE is an outside chance of announcing a hike.<\/p>\n

The September quarter GDP result for the eurozone is due.<\/p>\n

Being the first week in a new month, global manufacturing and services PMI numbers will be out across the week.<\/p>\n

It also means jobs week for the US, with the private sector number out on Wednesday and non-farm payrolls on Friday. Other US data across the week include personal income & spending, house prices, consumer confidence, construction spending, vehicle sales, factory orders and trade.<\/p>\n

Aside from the PMIs, Australia will see private sector credit, building approvals, the trade balance and retail sales next week.<\/p>\n

National Bank ((NAB)) will report its earnings result on Thursday. The resource sector production reporting season has now wound down but AGM season will continue to roll on.<\/p>\n
