At this early stage it looks like momentum has subsided and the Friday blues have set in for the local market, following a very strong run up to 6100. But we’ll wait and see.<\/p>\n

Thereafter we have the US jobs report tonight, which can potentially lead to upheaval.<\/p>\n

Next week is another busy one on the Australian corporate calendar, providing for micro potential.<\/p>\n

Earnings reports are due from Westpac ((WBC)), Orica ((ORI)), CSR ((CSR)), Incitec Pivot ((IPL)), BT Investment Management ((BTT)), Xero ((XRO)) and Graincorp ((GNC)).<\/p>\n

Quarterly earnings are due from Janus Henderson ((JHG)) and News Corp ((NWS)) and quarterly updates from Goodman Group ((GMG)) and REA Group ((REA)).<\/p>\n

AGMs will be held by HT&E ((HT1)), Caltex ((CTX)), Genworth Mortgage Insurance ((GMA)), Sino Gas & Energy ((SHE)) and Oil Search ((OSH)).<\/p>\n

Oh yes, and AMP ((AMP)). Remember that scene in the Blues Brothers where the band performed behind a cage?<\/p>\n

Investor days will be hosted by WorleyParsons ((WOR)) and Stockland ((SGP)).<\/p>\n

Local economic data releases include ANZ job ads, the NAB business and Westpac consumer confidence surveys, retail sales and housing finance.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday night the Federal Budget will be brought down.<\/p>\n

It’s a quiet week for US releases, but it does include the PPI and CPI, with inflation firmly in focus.<\/p>\n

China will release trade and inflation numbers.<\/p>\n

The UK is closed on Monday and the Bank of England meets on Thursday, in the wake of a very weak GDP result.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
