The approval makes HeidelbergCement the first company in the cement sector, and one of only about 200 companies globally, to receive such validation. The implications of this have yet to be seen.<\/p>\n<p>Calix has provided some of the technology underpinning the validation and upon which HeidelbergCement will rely for further sequestration gains on its journey towards creating carbon-neutral concrete (at present its carbon reduction only sits at -20%).
