The fuels we develop will be tested on various petawatt&#160;laser facilities around the world as there are no such facilities in <span class=\"xn-location\">Australia<\/span>. Other collaborators come from the <span class=\"xn-org\">University of Rochester<\/span>, University of <span class=\"xn-location\">Bordeaux<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-org\">Queens University<\/span> Belfast, <span class=\"xn-org\">University of Texas<\/span>, UNSW Sydney and Macquarie University.&#034;<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Dr <span class=\"xn-person\">Adi Paterson<\/span> joins HB11 Energy<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Former CEO of the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organ<span id=\"spanHghltfd9d\">i<\/span>sation (ANSTO), Dr <span class=\"xn-person\">Adrian (Adi) Paterson<\/span>, has joined HB11 Energy&#8217;s Scientific Advisory Board.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of his appointment, Dr Paterson said: <i>&#034;This project opens a new chapter in fusion energy research as we aim to realise the promise of fusion as a large-scale source of clean energy for the next generation.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>&#034;The distinctive hydrogen-boron fusion reaction is aneutronic, promising a safe and sustainable reaction with no intractable long-term waste.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>&#034;It was Australian Sir <span class=\"xn-person\">Mark Oliphant<\/span> who first discovered nuclear fusion and dreamed of the peaceful use of this energy source for the whole world. The research and development surrounding this program has been championed by an Australian \u2013 HB11 Energy founder Prof <span class=\"xn-person\">Heinrich Hora<\/span> &#8211; and the technology has the potential to re-<span id=\"spanHghlt5679\">e<\/span>stablish <span class=\"xn-location\">Australia<\/span> as a leader in clean energy technology.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>&#034;In this context, the <\/i><i>ARC Linkage Grant<\/i><i>&#160;announced this week has special resonance and importance for this globally important Australian project.
