China’s manufacturing sector expanded for a fourth month in June but the gain vis-a-vis May was the smallest possible as far as standard mathematics are concerned.
The Purchasing Managers’ Index rose to a seasonally adjusted 53.2 in June from 53.1 in May, according to a release by the Federation of Logistics and Purchasing. A reading above 50 indicates an expansion.
Independent research house CLSA will publish its own monthly Purchasing Managers’ Index later today.
