Ord Minnett

3

Hold

$1.40

32.08%

Ord Minnett points to a weak 3Q26 result from Boss Energy with production halved due to heavy rainfall disrupting reagent supply to Honeymoon

While near-term performance was softer and guidance trimmed at the margin, this is viewed by the analyst as secondary to the broader strategic reset underway.

The key focus remains the proposed wide-spaced well field strategy, which is intended to enable lower-cost recovery of lower-grade ore, although critical operating metrics such as mine life, production rates and costs remain uncertain.

A scoping study due in the June quarter is expected to be the next major catalyst in determining project viability. Hold retained, target reduced to $1.40 from $1.50.

FORECAST
Ord Minnett forecasts a full year FY26 EPS of 2.40 cents.
Ord Minnett forecasts a full year FY27 EPS of 21.70 cents.

Shaw and Partners

Buy

$2.96

179.25%

Shaw and Partners maintains its Buy rating on Boss Energy but has reduced the price target to $2.96 from $3.15 following a production downgrade for FY26.

The broker observes the company lowered FY26 guidance to 1.4-1.45Mlb from 1.6Mlb, primarily due to higher-than-expected impacts from heavy rainfall.

While this represents a disappointing operational setback, Shaw counters modelling suggests the uranium market remains in a structural deficit likely to drive prices significantly higher in coming years.

Management is currently awaiting results from resource delineation drilling and a revised feasibility study incorporating wider space injection and extraction wells.

The report posits investors are largely staying on the sidelines until these technical results provide more operational clarity later in 2026.

FORECAST
Shaw and Partners forecasts a full year FY26 dividend of 0.00 cents and EPS of 19.10 cents.
Shaw and Partners forecasts a full year FY27 dividend of 0.00 cents and EPS of 68.10 cents.
